Travelling at Akureyri few months ago, I've got a higly recommendation from a friend to check out Akureyri HI Hostel, which I did, renting a single nice room for 3600 ikr. Doubles can be rent for 5800 ikr, or if you just rent a bed, as HI member you will have to pay 1500 ikr. For more info call 462 3657 or go at this address Storholt 1.
